Hi there, and welcome to Perfect Slice
I am Samrudhi Mahesh. Born and brought up in amchi Mumbai. Born in a Maharastrian household I have stayed most of my life in Mumbai and moved to Pune after getting married to a Punekar.
My husband Mahesh, he is the Chief Tasting Officer of Perfect Slice. He is a foodie and loves to cook too. He is my best friend, my supporter, my source of inspiration and my food critic. He is the reason why perfect slice came into existence.
We are a family of 4 which includes our 2 crazy dogs, Tom & Jerry. My husband and I, we both are cynophilist. They are our stress busters. There are no bad days when you come home to your dogs.?And like every other pet parent, my phone’s gallery is filled with their photos.??
SO WHAT IS PERFECT SLICE?
Perfect slice is my food journey. It is my journey of trials and my experiments with food chemistry.
I had never cooked before my marriage. But I lived in a joint family and I had seen my mother, grandmother and aunties cook all the time. After marriage for most of the times it was just my husband and I, and that is the time I decided to venture into the kitchen, rather experiment with cooking. I am fortunate to have an mother in law who is an excellent cook. With her help and also my grandmother in law (very grateful and blessed to have had her) help I developed interest in cooking.
Many traditional recipes posted here are hand down recipes from them. Whereas the new ones are my experiments and experience from living in different places. For me food always makes me nostalgic. The sight and the aroma of the food takes me back home. And I find my solace in it. I am sure you all relate to food nostalgia. So perfect slice is my ode to all those who have taught me to cook.
As I keep on experimenting and unraveling food mysteries I will keep updating new recipes. This blog is and always be a work in progress. Make food and make memories.
As Ina Garten says “ cooking is one of the greatest gifts you can give to those you love”.
So this is Perfect slice sharing the recipes I love, with you guys.?
HAPPY COOKING, HAPPY EATING AND HAPPY LEARNING
